Carnival of eBay Sellers Volume #7

This week’s Carnival had the topic “Turning this years buyers into next years customers” and we have had several submissions which you will find below. Not all were on-topic, but all were excellent blog articles and all well appreciated.
Remember that this is the last week for PGA Auctions to host the Carnival of eBay Sellers and that beginning next week our friend Gary Hendrickson - theAuctionRebel - will be your new host thru January.
We are still looking for a February host so if you are interested, let me know! The Carnival is an excellent way to increase the readership of your Blog (I can personally vouch for that) … and through your blog you should also be increasing you eBay sales. If you are wondering how, have a look at Gary’s wonderful article on “Building an eBay Blog”
So here we go with this week’s 5 submissions:
Tracy Coenen wrote: Don’t let those Christmas gift cards go to waste posted at FRAUDfiles.
larryb submitted: eBay Auction Home Business Tutorial: Do Your Research! posted at My Supplier Space
Gary Hendrickson wrote an excellent article entitled: A Visit To A New Antique Shop posted at The Auction Rebel. It really goes to show you the importance of Customer Service.
larryb also wrote: Weekly Wholesale Sources Dec. 26th 2006 posted at My Supplier Space, saying, “here is this weeks list of suppliers for auction sites”
and Surfer Sam submitted: eBay Auctions, The famous, the weird and the wealthy. posted at Surfer Sam and Friends.
We did our usual surfing and found the following interesting links for your review:
Mark Abrahams presents How To Choose A Highly Profitable Niche - Even In A Downward Economy posted at Internet Affiliate Marketing Secrets, saying, “Rushing in to start a business without researching your niche market may sound like a good idea, but you won’t think so after spending hundreds of hours and discover you are still yet to make a profit.”
For our ephemera friends we found an interview with Robert Bogdan, the author of “Real Postcard Guide: The People’s Photography”. Robert talked about his new book and his passion for real photo postcards. The interview is entitled “Real Photo Postcards: An Interview with Robert Bogdan” at Marty Weil’s ephemera blog.
Beyond the usual estate sales, garage sales, rummage sales, arts and crafts or trade fairs and government auctions… Curly of “The Digerati Life” has an article entitled There’s Gold in Mysterious Storage Bins . It’s well worth a read.
And here are some End of Year Tax Tips for eBay Sellers from Skip McGrath.
As you hopefully all know, a lot of sellers were affected by the Taiwan Earthquake. eBay had some tips on it here. The Internet connections are now about 50-60% restored now (I know, I am posting this Carnival from Hong Kong) and eBay is pretty much back to normal from this side of the world.
Can you imagine having 213,127 items found in All Categories in your eBay store someday? This seller in Charlotte, North Carolina does… WOW!
We will close by pointing you to Camera Jim’s eBay Auction Photography page where he reminds you that the basic tools are your camera, your lighting, your background and your subject… but how well you use and combine these tools is what makes a good product photo.
REMEMBER: If YOU are interested in hosting the February issues, please send me an email.
Here are Gary’s Carnival topics and schedule. I hope that many of our readers will provide on-topic articles for the upcoming editions.
