Gadgets in My eBay Toolbox
While individuals who occasionally list on eBay are able to do so quite simply at the eBay site, those of us who make a business out of eBay have found that a number of tools are necessary to streamline our operation. I know that I for one, having attained the Power Seller level, could not have done it without the tools and gadgets that I currently use.
Perhaps the tool that I rely on most heavily is my “Auction Management Software”. For me that means “Shooting Star” from FooDog Software. I have been using it for 6 years and although I have looked at other solutions, consider Shooting Star as my favorite.

My personal experience with Shooting Star is that it keeps me organized. I am able to tell both logically and visually where each item is in the process… listed, sold, awaiting payment, ready to ship, shipped, awaiting feedback, and complete. At a price of $120.00 it has clearly paid for itself.
My other favorite is product is Dazzle from Envelope Manager Software… better known as Endicia. Dazzle uses a wizard-type interface to guide us through each step of mailing. It has a ZIP 4 lookup and address verification database so we are able to ensure that out mailings are correct. We also get free Delivery Confirmation from the USPS when we ship our Priority parcels using the Dazzle software. The monthly fee of $15.95 is a bit more than we’d like to pay, but we justify it believing that we get that much back in time savings.
Clearly there are other tools that we use in the course of our eBay auction business.. tools for cropping pictures, creating picture collages, spell checking our listings etc. but we’ll save those for either others to mention… or for future articles.
